With roots as a furniture retailer from the United Kingdom, COURTS Malaysia opened its doors to its customers since 1987 and today, operates more than 56 stores nationwide with the latest in Tawau, Cheras, Ipoh and Southkey Johor. OUR MILESTONES

In 1850, a young man named Henry Court opened a small family-run furniture business in Canterbury, England. The business fell on hard times during World War II and was sold to the Cohen family in 1945. By the late 60s, the Cohens embarked on overseas expansion beyond their shores, targeting the Caribbean and Asia. In 1974, the first COURTS store opened in Singapore in Orchard. 13 years later, in 1987, COURTS opened its first store in Malaysia.

    Job Information:

    Working Hours: 5 Days Work Week | 44 Hours per week including weekends and public holidays as per duty roster

    Working Locations: Island-wide

You will be joining a big team of service-oriented & sales-driven individuals to help the organization achieve set targets and contribute to the success of the business. Your leaders will be concern about your professional success and they are trained to help you succeed in your role. You will partake in tradeshows and roadshows from time to time and meet people from all walks of life and turn them into your life-long customers with your excellent service. You will acquire the latest product / services knowledge and use them to your advantage to build a strong customer base and achieve your targets. You will also play an active role in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of your workplace through diligent housekeeping.

  • Store Management Trainees

    Job Information:

    Working Hours: 5 Days Work Week | 44 Hours per week including weekends and public holidays as per duty roster

    Working Locations: Island-wide

    What to Expect:

    Management Trainees will undergo a rigorous 12 to 18 months structured training programme and be attached to various COURTS branches for a holistic experience of the store operations. You will be assigned hands-on roles and responsibilities that will aid your learning curve.

    During the training period, you will assist the store managers in the day-to-day store operations, experiencing hands-on roles and responsibilities covering sales, cashiering, staff management and customer handling. You will also learn and understand the overall company business structure and functions.

    Successful Trainees can look forward to a rewarding fast-track career that entails being groomed for the position of Assistant Department Manager; and future progression to Department Manager or Branch Manager level.

    Qualities to Succeed:

    Management Trainees must be prepared to work in a variety of challenging situations and be able to deal with all types of customers and staff. You should have at least 2 years of retail experience and possess good management and leadership qualities and good aptitude with figures. We are seeking for someone who is eager to learn and able to acquire new knowledge and skills quickly with a results driven and action-oriented mind-set. Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly with a variety of people at all levels will help you greatly in this role. You will be expected to have high level of business ethics and integrity with strong sense of customer service and you will be under pressure to perform well to qualify for advancement.
