About Atome
What is Atome?
Atome is one of Southeast Asia's leading digital consumer financing platforms. Its buy now, pay later service lets you split purchases into stress-free instalments across fashion, lifestyle, travel, fitness, home decor and more.
Simply select Atome as your payment option at a partner merchant's website, or scan the Atome QR code at the cashier, and your bill will be divided into monthly split payments. Your first payment is debited immediately upon purchase, with remaining installments due monthly.
What is Atome's business model?
- Revenue sources: Most of Atome's revenue comes from a small fee charged to brand partners for every transaction. This lets Atome pay merchants in full upfront while you split your payment over the following months.
- Flexible payment options: Split your payment into 3 months at no extra cost, or choose a longer plan of 6, 9 or 12 months for a small processing fee.
- Transparent billing: All fees are clearly stated in your bill, with no hidden charges.
Are there any requirement(s) for using Atome?
You must be at least 18 years old. To register, you will need:
- A mobile number with a Malaysia prefix (+60)
- Your legal full name
- Your Malaysian NRIC
- Your date of birth
- A valid email address
- A credit/debit card issued by a financial institution
- Your residential address and residential status
Before checkout, select any available voucher and make sure your purchase is at least RM10.
How much do I have to spend to use Atome?
The minimum spend is RM10 for a single purchase. Some merchants may set their own minimum spending requirements.
How do I register with Atome?
Download the Atome app from Google Play or the App Store, then:
- Register with your mobile phone number.
- As a first-time user, complete user verification by tapping "Pay" on the home page.
- Fill in your personal information.
- Add your credit/debit card details to complete registration.
Once registered, you can pay by scanning the Atome QR code in-store or selecting Atome at online checkout. Don't forget to apply any promo codes or vouchers!
Where can I use Atome?
- In-store: Use the Atome app to scan the QR code displayed at the cashier or checkout counter.
- Online: Select Atome as your payment option at checkout. Tap "Pay" in the Atome app to scan the QR code on the website, or enter your registered mobile number and the one-time password (OTP) sent to you to complete payment.
Pay-In-6 / Pay-In-9 / Pay-In-12
What is Pay-in-6 / Pay-in-9 / Pay-in-12?
In addition to Pay-In-3, Atome offers longer payment plans of 6, 9 and 12 months. Your first payment is debited immediately upon purchase, with remaining installments due monthly.
How is this different from the usual Pay-In-3 offer?
Pay-In-6, Pay-In-9 and Pay-In-12 plans come with an instalment rate of 1.5% per month, and are currently available at selected merchants only.
Is there any additional charge?
Yes. All current charges apply in addition to the instalment rate.
What happens if I want to pay earlier than the agreed payment plan?
You may pay the full amount at any time during your Pay-In-6, Pay-In-9 or Pay-In-12 plan. However, any instalment rate already charged is non-refundable.
Can I change my payment plan?
Once your payment plan is confirmed, it cannot be changed or cancelled directly. To switch plans, request an order cancellation from the merchant, then select a new payment plan when you make your new purchase.
Can you waive the instalment rate?
At present, the instalment rate cannot be waived.
